الحمد لله رب العالمين, والصلاة والسلام على أشرف المرسلين. أما بعد :
Setiap orang tua pastilah menginginkan anak-anaknya menjadi anak yang baik, tidak hanya baik kepada keluarga akan tetapi baik juga kepada semua orang. menjadi anak yang taat ketika masih kecil, dan menjadi anak yang berbakti ketika telah dewasa. itu adalah impian utama para orang tua.
Allah memberi contoh sesosok seorang ayah dan orang tua agar menjadi panutan para ayah dan orang tua yang lainnya. Allah menjadikan Luqman Al-Hakim sebagai sosok orang tua panutan dan mencantumkan kisahnya dalam Al-Qur'an. bahkan Allah mengabadikan namanya menjadi sebuah nama surat dalam Al-Qur'an yaitu surat Luqman (surat ke 31).
Dan diantara kisah-kisah tentang Luqman Al-Hakim, secara khusus Allah mencantumkan nasehat Luqman kepada anaknya dalam firman-Nya :

وَإِذْ قَالَ لُقْمَانُ لِابْنِهِ وَهُوَ يَعِظُهُ يَا بُنَيَّ لَا تُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّ الشِّرْكَ لَظُلْمٌ عَظِيمٌ
Artinya : "Dan (ingatlah) ketika Luqman berkata kepada anaknya, di waktu ia memberi pelajaran kepadanya : "Hai anakku, janganlah kamu mempersekutukan Allah, sesungguhnya mempersekutukan (Allah) adalah benar-benar kezaliman yang besar." (QS Luqman : 13)
Pertama yang Luqman nasehatkan kepada anaknya adalah tentang tauhid. yaitu mengesakan Allah dengan ibadah dan cinta, bahwa hanya Allah satu-satunya yang berhak diibadahi dan satu-satunya yang dicintai, sedangkan cinta kepada yang lainnya hanyalah praktek dari perintah Allah untuk mencintai yang lainnya. dan tidak mempersekutukan-Nya dengan sesuatupun.
Kemudian Luqman melanjutkan nasehatnya :
يَا بُنَيَّ إِنَّهَا إِنْ تَكُ مِثْقَالَ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ فَتَكُنْ فِي صَخْرَةٍ أَوْ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ أَوْ فِي الْأَرْضِ يَأْتِ بِهَا اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَطِيفٌ خَبِيرٌ (16) يَا بُنَيَّ أَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَانْهَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا أَصَابَكَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ مِنْ عَزْمِ الْأُمُورِ (17) وَلَا تُصَعِّرْ خَدَّكَ لِلنَّاسِ وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي الْأَرْضِ مَرَحًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخْتَالٍ فَخُورٍ (18) وَاقْصِدْ فِي مَشْيِكَ وَاغْضُضْ مِنْ صَوْتِكَ إِنَّ أَنْكَرَ الْأَصْوَاتِ لَصَوْتُ الْحَمِيرِ
Artinya : "(Luqman berkata): "Hai anakku, sesungguhnya jika ada (sesuatu perbuatan) seberat biji sawi, dan berada dalam batu atau di langit atau di dalam bumi, niscaya Allah akan mendatangkannya (membalasinya). Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Lemah Lembut lagi Maha Mengetahui. (16) Hai anakku, dirikanlah shalat dan suruhlah (manusia) mengerjakan yang baik dan cegahlah (mereka) dari perbuatan yang mungkar dan bersabarlah terhadap apa yang menimpa kamu. Sesungguhnya yang demikian itu termasuk hal-hal yang diwajibkan (oleh Allah). (17) Dan janganlah kamu memalingkan mukamu dari manusia (karena sombong) dan janganlah kamu berjalan di muka bumi dengan angkuh. Sesungguhnya Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang sombong lagi membanggakan diri. (18) Dan sederhanalah kamu dalam berjalan dan lunakkanlah suaramu. Sesungguhnya seburuk-buruk suara ialah suara keledai. (19)" (QS Luqman : 16-19)
Dalam nasehatnya kepada anaknya, Luqman membekali anaknya dengan didikan iman dan adab. pada ayat 16 dan 17 diatas, Luqman menasehati anaknya tentang bagaimana ketika hendak melakukan sebuah perbuatan haruslah ingat bahwa setiap perbuatan baik atau buruk pasti akan dibalas oleh Allah. dan kemudian Luqman memerintahkan anaknya untuk beribadah dalam bentuk sholat, memerintahkan yang baik dan melarang yang buruk, dan sabar atas apa-apa yang menimpa. inilah pendidikan iman yang Luqman tanamkan kepada anaknya.
Dan pada ayat 18-19, Luqman menasehati anaknya agar tidak sombong yaitu dengan merendahkan atau menganggap remeh orang lain, dan mengajarinya bagaimana cara berjalan yang baik dan bertutur kata yang santun. ini adalah pendidikan adab yang Luqman ajarkan kepada anaknya.
Kita para orang tua, sudahkah kita membekali anak-anak kita sebagaimana yang Luqman bekalkan kepada anaknya? apakah kita lebih takut jika anak kita nantinya tidak bisa makan dari pada takut jika anak kita akan mensekutukan Allah? dan sudahkah kita tanamkan pada diri anak-anak kita untuk selalu bersikap baik dan santun kepada siapa saja?
Baik buruknya mereka adalah hasil bagaimana cara kita mendidik dan mengarahkan mereka, bukan hasil dari sekolah atau yang lainnya. karena mereka adalah tanggung jawab kita sebagai orang tua.
